Membership Meeting Minutes

August 19th 2010 at Snap Fitness.

Prior to membership meeting refreshments were served by our hosts.

Call to Order: 7:05 pm

In Attendance: 18 participants – contact Secretary for attendance list. This was the first meeting that we had the attendance sheets available as soon as you walked into the meeting. We will continue this process at each meeting.

President’s Welcome: Stephen welcomed everyone to the meeting introduced our hosts for the evening.

Snap Fitness discussed the different programs that Snap has to offer including discounts for business’s.

The following topics were discussed and/or agreed upon as needed.

Old Business

The President advised the members that the board is currently reviewing and editing the by-laws of the KW Chamber, and the we currently have 4 vacancies on the board and if anyone is interested in joining the board to let a board member know, also advised we are currently finalizing the paperwork to become a non-profit organization, and we can accept credit cards on-line for the dues and donations going forward.

New Business

Benefit Package

The president presented a benefit package to the members that is available to the KW Chamber, the package includes – health insurance programs, discount drug card, HAS’s and life insurance, Office Max discounts Card, Fed Ex Shipping Discounts, Discounted Payroll plans, Price Lock Fuel Savings, and Communications.

The package is offered free.

A vote was taken to ratify the contract, seconded and passed by the attending board members.

High Speed Internet

The Vice President is currently in the process of contacting all business’ within King William County to discuss the potential interest of each business to support high speed internet service in KW.  At some point Andy will set up a meeting with the interested parties and Verizon to urge Verizon to offer this service throughout the county to help our business’ become more efficient.

Host Package

The Board presented a Host Package to the attending board members. The package has been created to ensure our members understand the different option levels that are available if a company or individual decides to host one of our membership meetings. Contact a board member if you would like to host a meeting or obtain this information.

Next Meeting – Our next Board Meeting will be hosted by Bullzeye Glass  – September 16th at King William Fire Department.  Arrival time between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.
